The Sandpiper Hospitality Executive Committee recently traded the office for the rivers and mountains of Idaho and Oregon for a truly unforgettable leadership retreat.
Yes, there was some serious fly-fishing — and plenty of stories about the ones that got away. But the real purpose of the trip went much deeper.
We spent focused time with EXCELR8, a Navy SEAL-based leadership and performance team, challenging ourselves to think differently about how we communicate, lead, execute and grow — both as individuals and as a team. Just as importantly, we stepped away from the day-to-day to focus on Sandpiper Hospitality’s strategy, our future, and how we continue raising the bar for our people, our partners and the hotels and clients we serve.
Great teams are built through trust, shared experiences and the willingness to challenge one another to get better. This retreat gave us all three. And somewhere along the way, we checked off a pretty incredible bucket-list experience together.
